I create a long loop (say, around 28 seconds) in thumbjam. I use the pasteboard to copy the loop into a sampler in jasuto pro. It plays within the session. However, if I save and load the scene, or have jasuto pro autoload the scene on the next startup, it crashes.

I've got this as well, but I'm using longer (3-4 minute 44.1khz 16bit) samples - this'd be useful to be fixed for a project I'm currently doing....

I've imported the samples over FTP into a folder I created and as soon as I click on them for preview Jasuto does a hard crash... :? :(

They're 33 and 41MB, so pretty big, but I tried them in mono and had the same crash - any idea's Hemi?

The current sampler doesn't stream from storage because Jasuto allows all sorts of crazy access to the current playback position (in real-time), so, it needs the entire sample loaded at once.

There needs to be a different module that dynamically streams a large sample with reduced functionality.

Interesting - how much ram will apple let you use for samples? I know the ipads got 256mb, is that not enough to load big samples? Also, I'm not sure about this, but does the iPad have a hardware aac decompressor - would that allow smaller sample sizes if you could leverage it in realtime?

Yeah, the apps don't get access to all that memory, in practice I'd say it more like 25-35% of that, even less on the phone based devices.

I am having a similar problem even with the built in samples. If I create a sample object via browse / insert I can open the object and see the options for the sample and the scene plays fine. If it is a saved scene tapping on the sample object crashes the app. Happens every time. So, that makes any saved scene that includes a sample useless. Stock Droid 2, 2.3 android 8mb XD card, no custom ROM, overclock or root, etc.
